Validity of Medical Certificates

JAR-FCL 3 Class 1:
12 calender-months if an airman has not reached age 60
6 calender-months if an airman is age 60 or over

JAR-FCL 3 Class 2:
60 calender-months if an airman has not reached age 40
24 calender-months if an airman has not reached age 60
6 calender-months if an airman is age 60 or over

Exceptional case:
Single-Pilot-Operation
Holder of licences for aircraft and helicopters:
6 calender-months if an airman is age 40 or over
for commercial transport of passengers with aircraft
operated by one pilot.

Not concerning Instructors and commmercial balloonists
If an applicant in this cases is age 40 or over, his medical gets the following limitations:
"For single pilot commercial air transport operations carrying passengers valid for 6 month only/


IMPORTANT
Single-Pilot-Operation: The Pilot decides in personal responsibility, if he needs a new medical after 6 months.
